Colonel Norman N. “Norm” Ferguson, United States Army Retired, Enterprise, AL died on February 5, 2012 at his residence in Enterprise.  He was 77.



          Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Chaplain (Col-Ret.) Sonny Moore officiating.  Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  Memorial contributions may be made to:  DaySpring Hospice, PO Box 311246, Enterprise, AL 36331.



          He was called to active duty at the beginning of the Korean War and served as an Infantryman there.  He also served two combat tours in Vietnam and continued to serve his country until he retired in 1986.  He was a Master Army Aviator, Auburn Alumnus, avid golfer, and an active member of the Enterprise Country Club.  Norm will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of honor, integrity and as a great patriot.



          He was preceded in death by his parents, Hulet Jackson and Mattie Ellen Ferguson; siblings, Casey Hamlet Ferguson, Robert Lee Ferguson, Jewell Davis Ferguson,  Mavis Marvine Pickett, Nita Faye Stokes, Dennis Carter Ferguson, Marvin Jack Ferguson and Barney Charles Ferguson.



          He is survived by his wife, Mitzi Ann Russell Ferguson;  4 children, Charlie Ferguson (Nancy) Newnan, GA;  Cathe Ferguson, Jacksonville, FL; Fay McLean (Bruce); Gaye Hines (Jimmy) both of Enterprise; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and good friends.
