OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. Alan Mac Robinett, 64, of Ozark, passed away suddenly in his home Saturday, November 28, 2015.


Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Tuesday, December 1, 2015, from the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with Reverend Mike Sigler, Reverend Meghan Kelley, and Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 P. M. in Green Hills Cemetery in Troy, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.


Mr. Robinett was born August 26, 1951 in Troy, Alabama. He grew up on the family farm in Clio, Alabama where he attended Barbour County Schools and graduated from Dixie Academy. Upon graduation he joined the United States Navy and served for four years.  During this time he served as a helicopter recovery crash and crewman in Vietnam, received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea).  He was Qualified Plan Captain of Apollo 16 Recovery Mission aboard the USS Ticonderoga on June 1, 1971.  After serving in the Navy, he attended Auburn University and received his degree in Agri-Business.  He was employed with Tide Products in Dothan, Alabama for several years, Alabama Farmers Co-Op, Frit Industries in Ozark for twenty years, and was currently employed by Gavilon/Micro Source.  Alan was a faithful servant and member of the First United Methodist Church in Ozark where he taught High School Sunday School, and served on several committees.  Alan enjoyed being around people, traveling, his job, working on the family farm, and spending time with family and friends.  He never met  a stranger and was a very positive person who loved his wife and family dearly.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen McInnis Robinett and Barnie Leslie Robinett.    Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Becky Head Robinett of Ozark; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Justin Robinett of Jackson, Mississippi and Jared and Alexa Necleio Robinett of Atlanta, Georgia; one grandson, Brooks Robinett; and one grandson due in January; one sister, Rosalyn Botts of Montgomery, Alabama;  two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Linda Robinett of Houston, Texas, Merrill and Karen Robinett of Auburn, Alabama.  Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews also survive.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, 167 East Broad Street, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, C/O David Abercrombie, 1418 County Road 9, Louisville, Alabama  36048.
