Ouida Faye Wood Justice of Bonifay, FL (Smith Chapel Church community) went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 09, 2023. She was 73.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at New Bayview Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Sylvia Foskey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to New Bayview Church of God of Prophecy, 1097 New Bayview Ch. Rd., Bonifay, FL 32425.

 

Ouida was born on February 7, 1950 in Holmes Co., FL to the late D.W. and Evelyn Shirley Wood. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved to work with flowers and create beautiful arrangements. She was well known for her good southern cooking, jam and jelly making, and overall caring for those she loved. Ouida was an active member of her church, who loved the Lord and served Him faithfully.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Joe and Eugene Wood and Nadine Hudson.

 

Ouida is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 19 years, Billy Joe Justice of Bonifay, FL; two sons, James Sloan (Karen) of Black, AL and Jerry Sloan (April) of Geneva, AL; three grandchildren, Justin Sloan (Cassie) of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Austin Sloan (Starla) of Phenix City, AL and Dustin Sloan (Cricket) of Bonifay, FL; four great grandchildren, Olivia Sloan, Lucy and Lainey Sloan and Claire Donaldson; four siblings, Kay Green of Tallahassee, FL, Leroy Wood of Dothan, AL, Nolan Wood of Ponce De Leon, FL and Judy Anderson of Westville, FL; sister-in-law, Becky Wood of Bonifay, FL; special friend, Martha Jo Gilley Stultz of Bonifay, FL and a number of special nieces and nephews.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Austin, Dustin, Calvin and Mike Sloan, Bo Wood and Josh Hudson.
