A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am Friday December 9, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bo Grice and Ron Sommer officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 9:30-11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pam was born on March 9, 1950 in Corning, New York to Phillip and Beverly Woolwine. Phillip passed when she was fifteen. Beverly (Nana) remarried to Jim Geyer (Bampa), and Pam considered him a father. She was married to John Godwin for 51 years, married on August 29, 1971 at Grace Baptist Church in Clermont, Florida at 7:00 in the morning (it was the only time the church was available). They met when they were 13 years old and were high-school sweethearts. Pam graduated from Clermont High School in Florida and Mars Hill College in North Carolina; she was awarded a working scholarship to Mars Hill College. She and her husband, John moved to Dothan in 1974 where he taught and coached at Houston Academy for seven years. She and her husband founded Dothan Tarpaulin Products in 1981 and she worked in the business office in the early years while raising four children. Pam has been a full-time wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to travel with her husband, both business and pleasure, often stopping along the way to explore antique shops. She volunteered as a Sunday School teacher at New Covenant Christian Fellowship for over 30 years. She loved to spend time with her children and grandkids. She sang alto in church and loved to worship God, and any Sunday, you could find her on the front row of church with her hands in the air and singing. Pam attended New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church.

Survivors include husband, John Godwin; children, Elizabeth (Joshua) Godwin, Michael (Heather) Godwin, Sarah Godwin, Rachel Godwin and Lori Bighems; grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Lydia, Andrew, Sanako and Rhema; mother, Beverly Geyer; sister, Vickie Woolwine Bourgeois; and pets, five fun-loving Pomeranians. Pam was like a mother to almost everyone she met and made friends everywhere she went.

The family would like to thank Dr. Paola and the wonderful ICU Nurses who attended Pam at Flowers Hospital, especially Nurse Danielle who was so kind and attentive to both Pam and John. Special thank you to all the church family from New Covenant Christian Fellowship and Church at the Crossings and all her friends who loved her so well. Pamela means sweeter than honey, and that suited her well.
