Pamela Denise Tiller

Pamela Denise Tiller, age 60 of Dothan, passed away early Monday evening in a local emergency room, following a brief illness.

Celebration of Life services for Pamela will be held at 11am Saturday, December 5, 2020, in the Family First chapel with Pastor Samuel Jackson officiating. Private, family only, burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, December 4, 2020,  from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home. The service will be live streamed on the Family First Funeral Care Facebook page, beginning at 10:55am until conclusion of the service. Common sense social distancing guidelines shall be observed.

Pamela was born March 11, 1960 in Dothan, to the late James and Lillie Mae Britt Boykin and lived her entire life in the Wiregrass area. For many years she worked as a dietician at Flowers Hospital, which could explain her love of cooking for people. Pamela was a self-proclaimed  film critic and loved Netflix. She will be remembered as a great cook and as previously said, enjoyed cooking for others because she loved making people happy with her talents in the kitchen. Music was another big influence in her life and she enjoyed all sorts of music from jazz to blues to modern day pop music. Every chance she got, Pamela enjoyed taking her “day trips” and going down to the state line where she would purchase lotto and scratch-off tickets. She really enjoyed those scratch-off tickets and seeing what if anything she had won. However, whether she won or not, just sitting and scratching those tickets brought her much pleasure. She was also a collector of artifacts, many different types of artifacts, but what she enjoyed collecting most were her elephants. Because of her son’s either being in the military or driving trucks, she was able to travel the world and had the opportunity to see many things. She even conquered her fear of flying because she meant she was going to see her boys and once even flew as far away as Germany. Many things Pamela was known for and many things she enjoyed, but nothing compared to the love she had for her boy’s. She loved each one the same, and they all loved her and are going to miss her very much, just as her many friends, family and extended family are going to. Pamela was also a Christian lady and was a member of Liberty Christian Church.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Jerome Tiller of Dothan; her four sons, Isaac Jerome Smith of Ft. Campbell, TN, Jason B. Smith (Ramon Smith) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Brant O. Smith of Ft. Hood, TX and Joshua D. Smith (Bliss Smith) of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; five grandchildren, Isaiah J. Smith, Immanuel J. Smith, Bryson J. Smith, Joshua D. Smith, Jr. and Nehemiah D. Smith. Pamela is also survived by a brother, three sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
