Patricia “Pat” Anne Adams passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2019 at her home in Bonifay, FL. She was 91 years old.

Ms. Adams was born in Miami-Dade County, FL on July 8, 1927 to the late Gerald and Mary Lou Davis-Adams. Pat remained active in the community for much of her life. Among her friends and family, she will be remembered as a beautiful and strong woman, a loyal friend, a mentor and an advocate for all of God’s creatures.

Pat was a graduate of Mayfield High School and Murray State University in Kentucky. She retired from BellSouth Corporation after over thirty-five years of service. She was Deaconess for the Anglican Catholic Church of Holy Trinity in Lafayette, LA. Notably, she survived cancer three times and never let it or anything else overcome her or dampen her sense of humor. When she wasn’t working or taking a class, you could find her in her garden, painting, tending to her beloved animals or spending time with a loved one. A trip to town often included multiple stops as she would use this time to check in on a friend, stop to care for a stray or visit folks at the hospital.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her baby sister, Linda Mae Adams, brother Robert “Bobby” Adams and her nephews, Bobby “Little Bob” Adams and Timothy Adams. She is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth Adams-Cooper and her husband Curtis of Bonifay, FL; two nieces, Shelly Adams Travis of Mayfield, KY and Sandy Adams, and nephew Thomas Adams of Hendersonville,TN; five grandchildren, Bridget Palombo of Philadelphia, PA, Brianna Prestigiacomo and her husband Joseph of Springfield, VA, Bobby Palombo and his wife Mindy of Prairieville, LA, Brittany Palombo of Lafayette, LA, and Ashley Sandidge and her husband James of Norman, OK; and nine great-grandchildren, Christian, Camryn, Skyleigh, Hannah, Kyle, Lydia, Hayden, Marlie and Caleb.

Ms. Adams will be laid to rest with her family at Calvary Cumberland at Calvary Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mayfield, KY. The family will receive friends and family for a memorial service on Saturday, June 29 at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of Trinity Anglican Church in Lafayette, LA. A Communion Service will be held on Sunday, June 30 at 8 am. Donations in Pat’s name may be made to:

Lafayette Animal Shelter & Care Center for the No Kill 2020 initiative in Lafayette, LA

Acadiana’s Camp Bluebird at the Lourdes Foundation in Lafayette, LA

Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport, LA

The family wishes to thank everyone for their heartfelt sympathies during this difficult time.
