Patricia Ann Broxson Gilmore Smith of Westville, FL passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 10, 2023, at the age of 81.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday September 14, 2023, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward funeral home with Rev. Ronnie Baine officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Head Community Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Patricia was born on August 2, 1942, to the late Robert and Clara Bowden Broxson. She was a resident of the New Hope community and Marianna FL.

She was a member of Poplar Head United Methodist Church for 49 years, serving in various capacities of the Church. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for 12 years where she enjoyed working in the library and praising God by singing in the choir.

She worked alongside her husband Carlis Gilmore in establishing a thriving business known by all as Gilmore Services in Geneva and surrounding areas for over 20 years.

She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, playing canasta with her Marianna friends, and getting together regularly with her classmates from Geneva, Class of 1960. She exemplified Godliness and was always there to help others. She was an avid Alabama football fan.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all who knew and loved her. Her greatest blessings called her Nana.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husbands Carlis Gilmore (2004) and James Smith (2018); brother, Harold Broxson (2006).

She is survived by her loving family; daughter, Joann Gilmore Blocker (Greg) of Aubrey, TX, son, Rodney Gilmore (Pam) of Southport, FL. Three grandchildren; Ashley Anne Blocker of Anna, TX, Justin Tyler Blocker (Haley Bender) of Trophy Club, TX and Curtis Wayne Gilmore of Southport, FL. Sister, Diane Broxson Whitehead (Gerald) of Geneva, AL and brother, Larry Broxson (June) of Kinston, AL.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of HCA Gulf Coast ICU and Vitas Hospice in Panama City for their excellent care and compassion for Mom.
