HEADLAND. . .Patricia Burkett Farness, a resident of Headland, died early Saturday morning, February 13, 2021, in a Dothan hospital. She was 75.


       Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in the Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Dan Sheppard officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 A.M. Tuesday at the mortuary. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed.


       Patricia Farness was born and reared in Headland, daughter of the late Robert Richmond Burkett and Lula Ray Tice Burkett. She lived in the Headland area most of her lifetime and attended Trinity Baptist Church. Patricia was preceded in death by her fiance’, Randy Baker, a daughter, Penny Burkett, a son, Gregory Todd Burkett, six sisters, Martha Jean Osborn, Pauline Enfinger, Peggy Ann Smith, Jeanelle Burkett, Shirley Ray Burkett and Judy Burkett, two brothers, Carlton Burkett and Darrell Burkett.


       Surviving relatives include a daughter, Donna Sue Farness (Evus), Oregon; three sons, Terry Farness (Jennifer), Headland; Tony Farness (Amanda Mitchell), Columbia; and Terry Eugene Farness, Oregon; two sisters, Sue Mills (James), and Linda McLean, all of Headland; a brother, Charles Burkett (Janie), Headland; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
