Paul Joseph Lackovic, age 90, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 8, 2020. He was born in Erie, Pa., on April 27, 1930, son of the late Frank and Mary Lackovic. He was one of eight siblings.

Paul was active in St. Columba Catholic Church and community while living in Dothan. He served in the Knights of Columbus for several years while living in South Carolina and Alabama. Paul was a 20-year employee of the Pennsylvania Electric Company (PENELEC) and served as a Cub Scout leader in his younger years. He graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School in Erie, Pa.

Paul was married for over 60 years to Hildagarde M. Lackovic (Regal). They shared many activities over the years such as traveling, church functions, Ionia Club, and playing Santa and Mrs. Claus. As a skilled carpenter, he built two of their homes. In later years, Paul enjoyed making bird feeders, bird houses, and flower gardens. He loved sitting on the porch swing, watching nature, while holding hands with his wife.

Paul is survived by four children, Nanette Grygier (James) of Springboro, Pa., Rene Lackovic of Dothan, Ala., Steven Lackovic (Tammy) of Hickory, N.C., and Chris Lackovic of Manassas, Va.; one sister, Cecilia Menc (Lackovic) of Erie, Pa.; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hildagarde M. Lackovic; and one daughter, Roseanne Lackovic Peck.

Friends will be received at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road, in Spring 2021 followed by a Memorial Service at the same location (details will be forthcoming to family and friends). Private interment will take place at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
