ABBEVILLE. . .Peggy Jean Lightfoot Hopper, a resident of Abbeville, died Monday night, July 3, 2023, in a Dothan hospital. She was 56.

            There are no memorial or funeral services planned at this time. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            Peggy Hopper was a native of Indiana and lived in Indiana and Florida before moving to Holiday Shores on Lake Eufaula in 2021. She attended Union Free Will Baptist Church, near Abbeville. Peggy was formerly employed by Elsa in Elwood, Indiana as a Quality Control Inspector and WalMart in Arcadia, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lightfoot, Jr. and Paula Jean Reed Lightfoot, five children and a brother.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, Michael Duane Hopper, a daughter, Summer “Summy” Hopper, Abbeville; a step-daughter, Sherri Crawford (Jimmy), Tipton, Indiana; a step-granddaughter, Jovi Crawford, and a special friend, Patricia Jackson.
