Peggy Lou Ming, a vibrant and loving woman known for her boundless energy and infectious laughter, passed away on April 17, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama, after a brave battle with an extended illness. Born on September 13, 1938, in Graceville, Florida, Peggy's life was filled with adventure, faith, and a deep love for her family and friends.

Peggy began her educational journey at Troy State University before finding her passion in cosmetology and transferred to Wallace Community College, where she earned a degree in Cosmetology. Peggy's career started at Dale's Beauty Salon, and she eventually opened her own shop at home. Peggy also worked as a bookkeeper alongside her husband, Ray Ming, in their family business.

With a heart full of love and a spirit of service, Peggy devoted her time to volunteering at Catholic Social Services. As a devout Catholic, she found joy in serving as a Door Greeter and Eucharistic Minister at St. Columba Catholic Church. Peggy's faith was the foundation of her life, and she was known for her unwavering commitment to helping others.

A true lover of the outdoors, Peggy spent her free time gardening, playing golf, and teaching her grandchildren how to swim - even though she had a fear of water herself. Her adventurous spirit and insatiable curiosity led her to ask endless questions and explore the world around her.

Peggy's friendly nature and genuine warmth made it impossible for her to meet a stranger. She cherished her family above all else, creating countless memories and nurturing deep bonds with her loved ones. One of Peggy's favorite pastimes was playing the card game, Nickel, where she insisted on being the scorekeeper - mostly because she always won.

When it came to television, Peggy was a die-hard Gun Smoke fan, and she could often be found laughing along with the antics of its colorful characters. Her laughter was contagious, and her sense of humor brought joy to everyone around her.

Peggy is survived by her son, Andy (Dana) Ming, and her daughter, Pamela Ming (Randy) Dean. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Katie (Fred) Rice, Joshua (Kydie) Dean, Drew (Morgan) Ming, Hayden Ming, Jessica Ming, and Ethan Ming, as well as her great-grandchildren: Landen Dean, Jase Dean, Luke Rice, Eli Ming, and Addi Kate Ming. She is also survived by her sister, Molly Boggess and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Ming; son, Rodney Ming; great grandchild, Riley Dean; parents, Curtis Register and Louise Ivey Register; and brothers, Elton Register, Ted Register, and Joe Register.

In a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming, Peggy Lou Ming's adventurous, faith-filled, and friendly spirit was a beacon of light, laughter, and love. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, humor, and unwavering faith.
