Phillip “Glenn” Howell, age 85, went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2021. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Level Plains with Rev. David Layton officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 P.M. on Thursday at First Baptist Church Level Plains.

Glenn was a gentle man who loved and honored his family through years of loyalty and support. His heart truly belonged to all of his grandchildren and could be found cheering them on during various sporting activities. He also enjoyed spending time with them on his family farm and telling stories of time spent there during his childhood.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Codie Howell, a sister, Grace Waters, two great-grandchildren, John Hogan Meeks and Lauren Elizabeth Meeks.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Howell, his life-long partner of 65 years; daughter, Phyllis Uptain (Donnie) Enterprise, AL; son, Chris Howell (Kelley) Madison, AL; four grandchildren, Leslie Haynes, Enterprise, AL; Adonna Meeks (Chad) Enterprise, AL; Logan Howell, Fairchild Air Force Base; Lindsey Howell, Madison, AL; three great-grandchildren, Harlee Haynes; Maggie Haynes; Cole Meeks, all of Enterprise, AL; great-great-granddaughter, Amelia Haynes, Enterprise, AL.
