Phillip Wade Smith

Phillip Wade Smith, a man best known for his loving nature, selfless heart, and adventurous spirit, passed away on November 16, 2023, in Midland City, Alabama. Born on February 4, 1963, in Fort Worth, Texas, Phillip was a cherished son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, whose life was marked by deep love for his family and a profound appreciation for the natural world.

Phillip was the beloved son of Leslie Vann Smith, who preceded him in death, and Wanda Charlene Brown Smith. He grew up alongside his brothers, Leslie Curtis Smith and Mark Smith, who is married to Theresa. Phillip’s family was his rock, providing him with endless support and love throughout his life. Together, they shared countless memorable moments, from simple family dinners to adventurous hunting and fishing trips.

In his own family, Phillip was a devoted husband to his late wife, Amy Smith, and a doting father to his sons, Wade Smith, Derek Smith, who is married to Ashley, and Jake Smith, who sadly predeceased him. Phillip's love for his family was unbounded, and he considered his role as a father and husband to be his greatest achievement. His kindness, patience, and love will be deeply missed by his family but will continue to inspire them.

Phillip was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Kayla, Morgan, Savannah, Kyler, Brayden and Kalli Smith. He cherished every moment he spent with them, whether it was teaching them how to fish or simply sitting with them and sharing stories. Phillip's love for his grandchildren was evident in his radiant smile every time he was with them.

Phillip's adventurous spirit led him to a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, arrowhead hunting and freshwater fishing. These shared moments not only fostered a deep connection with his sons but also allowed Phillip to pass on his love for nature and the outdoors.

Phillip also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, who will remember him as a fun and loving uncle. His selfless nature extended beyond his immediate family, as he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Phillip Wade Smith was a man whose life was filled with love, adventure, and selflessness. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. His family will cherish the times they spent together and will forever remember Phillip as a loving and selfless man who lived life to the fullest. His spirit will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we remember Phillip, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep sense of family. His legacy will live on in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and all those who were touched by his kindness and love. Phillip Wade Smith, a man of great heart and spirit, will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
