A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 2:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on the day of the service.








Phoebe Juanita Brown, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at a local hospital. She was 69.


Phoebe was born on January 26, 1954 in Calloway, Florida. She owned and operated Town & Country Flowers in Abbeville for several years. Phoebe enjoyed arts and crafts, writing poems, riding horses and cooking for her family. Her favorite place was at the lake, watching the sun rise, fishing or just riding the boat. She was also lovingly called “Bopsy” by her father.



Phoebe was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Linton and Lillian Peacock Linton; and her brother, Steve Williams.



Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Roy Dallas Brown; her children, Audria (Michael) McGilvary and Joseph (Courtney) Brown; her grandchildren, Hunter McGilvary, Jase McGilvary, Emory McGilvary, Roy Dallas Brown and Camilla Brown; her brothers, Jim Linton and Frank Linton; her sister, Ida (Gordon) Pennington; her sister-in-law, Barbara Williams; several nieces and nephews, including Mary Jane (Steve) Vaughn.
