Remona Stanley Evans

Ramona Stanley Evans was received into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on January 11, 2012.

Born on March 28, 1936 in Tuscaloosa, AL, she spent most of her formative years in the Wiregrass region of southern Alabama and considered Dothan home.  Ramona was associated with several Pentecostal churches in the area and was always reaching out to others to share the good news of God’s love and salvation.

She is survived by her children, Wendy Evans of Daleville, AL, and Wayne & Becky Raley of Springfield, TN and their son Nathaniel; and her stepchildren, Deborah, Beverly, Diana and Kevin and their respective children. 

Ramona’s husband, Kenneth Evans, her mother, Maudie Stanley Caulie, and brothers, Hubert and R. A. Stanley preceded her into heaven.

Ramona’s children invite all who wish to celebrate her life in God to a Worship Service in her honor on Sunday, January 15, 2012, 6:30pm, at New Covenant Christian Fellowship, 3500 Reeves Street (Hwy 431 North across from Northview High School), Dothan. 

A service at the graveside, officiated by Pastor John D. Reese, III, will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery, 2390 Hartford Hwy Dothan, AL on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11 am with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing.  The family requests, in lieu of flowers,  donations be sent to a charity close to Ramona’s heart, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, 30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2600, Chicago, IL 60602  |  800-486-8844 or  http://www.ifcj.org/site/PageNavigator/eng/donateonlineb.html.
