Ray Hughes, age 61 of Webb, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, September 30, 2020, at Flowers Hospital, following a brief illness.

Funeral services for Ray will be held at 2pm Saturday, October 3, 2020 in the chapel at Webb Baptist Church with Pastor Joel Lasseter officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Baptist Church cemetery. A gathering for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.

Ray was born in Dothan on September 8, 1959 to the late Rayford Lester Hughes, Sr. and Betty Merle Anderson Hughes. For many years he worked in construction for Danco Construction Company. He was of the Baptist faith.

Ray is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Dwayne Irwin of Webb; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Bonnie Hughes of Webb; a nephew Tony Irwin, two nieces Tasha Brookshire and Candy Walker, great nieces and nephews Ansleigh Irwin, Bryson Irwin, Eli Brookshire, Kyra Walker, Lafiama "Peanut" Walker. He is also survived by his special friend Janet Dillard and his four-legged companion, Maci. Several Aunts and Uncles and cousins also survive .
