Ray Maxwell Lewis, age 85, of Enterprise, AL passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his home.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 3, 2022 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Jamie Payton officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Dothan Spirit Tennis Team or The Grace Place Church.

Ray was a 1955 graduate of Demopolis High School and attended the University of Alabama.  He also attended Troy State University and held a Bachelor Degree.  Ray retired after 44 years from Alabama Power Company and was a proud member of the United States Army National Guard.  His hobbies included golfing, hunting, fishing and playing tennis.  He loved to travel with his late wife and loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.  He volunteered for several civic organizations and was the Pilot Club of Enterprise Man of the Year in 2006.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Lewis and brother Jimmie Lewis.

Survivors include his two daughters, Ginny Lewis Adams, Opelika, AL; Beth Moore (Kevin), Enterprise, AL; two grandchildren, William Adams and Mary Elizabeth Adams of Auburn, AL.

The family offers a special thank you to Kindred Hospice, Greenwood Assisted Living in Geneva, and numerous friends at The Grace Place Church for support and care during his sickness.
