Rebecca Gray Haynes of Samson, AL passed away early Tuesday morning, April 09, 2024 following a brief illness. She was 75. Heaven gained a beautiful angel.

 A private family graveside service will be held at Leddon Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing.

 Rebecca was born in Geneva Co., AL on March 25, 1949 to the late Gene and Gladys Dabney Gray. She was affectionately known as “Poonanny”. She owned and operated Poonanny’s Antiques in Geneva for 14 years. Her passion was antiques, going to yard sales and going out to eat. Rebecca retired after 28 years as a secretary/librarian from Enterprise State Junior College. Rebecca was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Gray and Terrell Gray.

 Rebecca is survived by her husband of 34 years, Forrest Haynes, one son, Roger Dale McCollough (Melba), all of Samson; stepdaughter, Sherry Smoot of Bluemont, VA; grandson, Jarod McCollough of Samson; step-grandson, Jesse Smoot of Bluemont, VA; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Pam Stevens, Norma Elmore, Sylvia, Kim Lee and many more. She adored her two cats, Hobie and Stubby.
