Rev. David Earl Lamb of Samson, AL went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2023. He was 73.


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Bro. Monroe Sasser and Bro. James Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in The Church of Samson cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to The Church of Samson in Bro. David’s memory.


Bro. David was born on April 08, 1949 in Hartford, AL to the late William Fernie and Jimmie Ruth Champion Lamb. He was a minister of the gospel and had preached “God’s Word” for 50 years. At the time of his death, he was serving as pastor of The Church of Samson. He retired after 38 years with Wiregrass Electric Cooperative as a journeyman lineman/serviceman. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to cow sales. He was a true farmer at heart, raising cattle, chickens and enjoyed all things related to livestock.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Wagner, and one brother-in-law, Robert Patrick.


He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Barbara Lamb of Samson; six children, Cindy Watson and Kevin Lamb (Amy), all of Samson, Joseph “Joey” Lamb (Miranda) and Daniel Lamb (Brynn), all of Geneva, Stephen Lamb (Leah) and Charity Lamb, all of Samson; 20 grandchildren, Matthew Watson (Laiken), Mark (Trinity) and Melody Watson, Haley Lamb Gilley (Matt), Drew Lamb (Nikki), Addi Kay and Brycen Lamb, Trevor Bell (Kaitlyn) and Faith Bell, Meagan, Emily, Kylee and Graycen Lamb, Sadie and Katie Nix, Nikki Lamb Pettis (Colton), Pazley, Aubree, Tyler and Hunter Lamb, one great granddaughter, Molly Ann Pettis; one brother, William Lamb (Linda) of Mobile, three sisters, Barbara Patrick of Troy, Joyce Martin (Dannelly) of Dothan and Janice Sullivan (Tom) of Hartford; brothers-in-law, Jerry Singletary (Dale), Fadette and Roger Singletary (Glenda), Slocomb and many special nieces and nephews.
