Obituary: Rev. James Mitchell Otts


 


Rev. James Mitchell Otts of Hartford went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Wiregrass Medical Center. He was 52. 


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 


The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 


Rev. Otts was born May 24, 1968 in Germany to the late James Alfred Otts and Ruby Suddeth Otts. Rev. Otts was a great man of faith, pastor of New Providence Baptist Church in Slocomb, and served as chaplain for Southern Care Hospice. James was a loving husband and adoring father! He was loved by his family, friends, and the community and will be dearly missed. 


Survivors include his wife, Jennifer MacDonald Otts; daughter, Emily Grace Otts; sons: Austin Otts, and Christian Otts; mother, Ruby Otts; sisters: Ruby Marie Hennis, Robin Rollins, and Rachel Miller (Keith); nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
