REVEREND HERBERT CLYDE BRADY

DOTHAN, AL… Reverend Herbert Clyde Brady, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 20, 2023, at his home. He was 91.

          Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Brother Doug MacCormack, Brother Harrison Steege, and Brother Billy Garrett officiating. His son, Gary Brady will give a eulogy. Burial will follow in the Liberty Church Cemetery in Blakely, Georgia. The family will receive friends Tuesday August 22, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

          Mr. Brady was born in Nashville, Georgia to the late John Melvin Brady and Ada Clementine Taylor Brady. In his early childhood, he lived in Arcadia, Florida and Ruskin, Florida. He also lived in Tampa, FL, Tumbleton, AL, and Columbia, AL before moving to Dothan, AL in 2003. He retired from Lewis & Smith Supply Company in Dothan, AL. In earlier years, he served as vice-president and general manager of the FAGE Wholesale Plumbing Supply Company in Tampa, FL. Reverend Brady served as pastor of several churches in the Wiregrass area.

          Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Johnnie Mae Brady; his daughter, Kathy Sue Brady; his step-son, Daniel Ray Monk; his two brothers; and his several sisters.

          Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Barbara Newsome Brady; his daughters, Mary Elizabeth Brady (Aaron) and Elaine Griffith (Phillip); his sons, Keith Brady (Melodie), Gary Brady, and Alan Brady (Jessica); his step-son, Bobby Edward Riley; his sister, Anita Marie Muse; his twelve grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

          Serving as active pallbearers will be JonMichael Brady, Wayne Brady, Ronny Smothers, Nicky Newton, Aaron Wiggins, and Christopher Mitchell.
