DOTHAN. . .Richard Alan “Rick” McKinley, a resident of Dothan, died early Sunday morning, December 25, 2022, at his home. He was 62.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McKinley, also nicknamed “Mortis”, was born and reared in Lancaster, Ohio, son of the late Chester Vernon McKinley and Mary Margaret Wetzel McKinley. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force from 1979 until 1982. Mr. McKinley lived in Ohio most of his adult lifetime before moving to Dothan. He was formerly employed by Paulk’s Service Company as a HVAC technician. Mr. McKinley was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Miller.

 Surviving relatives include his wife, Sonya Wallis McKinley; three daughters, Eden Smith (Bradley), Rehobeth; Dena Hicks (Charles), Dothan; and Mamie McKinley (Joseph Lopez), Midland City; two sisters, Patty Roe and Judith Hogan; two brothers, Charles McKinley and Randy McKinley (Tish), a brother-in-law, Ron Miller of Ohio; grandchildren, Hayden, Eli, Brayden, Braxton, Daphne, Danyelle, Brynlee, Karter, Addy and Bryson, and a special canine friend “Cletus”.
