CATAULA, GEORGIA……Ricky Lee Cook, a resident of Cataula, Georgia, a native of Abbeville, Alabama,  died early Tuesday evening, September 20, 2022, as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident which occurred in Fort Mitchell, Alabama. He was 65.

There are no memorial or funeral services planned at this time. Holman- Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Ricky Cook was born and reared in Abbeville and was a graduate of Abbeville High School where he excelled as a quarterback and linebacker on the football team. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Cook, Sr. and Inez Davis Cook, and two brothers, Vonnell Cook and Douglas Mack Cook.

Surviving relatives include a son, Joe Cook (Samantha), Dothan; three brothers, Kenneth Cook (Ann), Cataula, GA; Robert Cook, Phenix City, AL; and Leroy Cook, Jr. (Kay), Mobile, AL; two granddaughters, Brynlee Hughes and Ava Watford.
