Rillie A. Simmons of Coffee Springs, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 13, 2022. She was 107.              

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at First Baptist of Coffee Springs Church with Reverend David Bradshaw officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church in Coffee Springs, Alabama with Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Rillie was born on January 16, 1915 to the late John and Destiny Anderson.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, John Zollicofer, Dewey, Audie Lee, Purvis, Eva Hartzog, Delia Jordan, Mattie Mae Jordan; and their extended families.  She was a public educator for 38 years; teaching at Bullard Jr. High for five years and Coffee Springs High School for 33 years.  She was also a home maker.  Rillie was a loving family member of Somerset Assisted Living for the past four years.  She enjoyed coloring and reading books but was most famous for being the champion of dominoes.

Survivors include her sons, Winston Simmons (Jo Ellen) of Coffee Springs, AL and Wendell Simmons (Janet) of Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Joshua Brooks Simmons and Jessica Evangeline Simmons; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
