Robert Carroll Van Horne, Sr of Malvern, AL passed away at his home on Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was 93 years old.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Poplar Head Community Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. and continue until 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Van Horne was born in Meadville, PA on December 24, 1930, to the late Pete and Elizabeth Gardner Van Horne. Robert faithfully served his country in the United States Army. After 30 years of dedicated service, he retired from the military with the rank of CW3.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Griggs Van Horne; one grandson, Robert Carroll Van Horne, III; two brothers, Roger and Dale Van Horne.

Mr. Van Horne is survived by three children, Thomas Ray Glass (Barbara), Sharon Delores Mooney (Mikhail), and Robert Carroll Van Horne, II; four grandchildren, Calvin Brent Johnson (JoManda), Heather Kristen Bailey (Bartow), Anthony Glass, and Brian Glass; and numerous great grandchildren.
