Robert Earl Lanton, a resident of Dothan, died early Saturday morning, February 23, 2019, in a Dothan hospital. He was 67.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 25, 2019, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Greg Doss officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Mr. Lanton was born in Donalsonville, Georgia and was reared in Jakin, Georgia and near Columbia. He lived in Dothan since 1976. Mr. Lanton was retired as a truck driver from YRC Worldwide. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Vickers Lanton, his mother, Mary Elizabeth Worrell Lanton, a sister, Eloise Lane, and a brother, Charles Lanton.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Betty Brooks Lanton; three daughters, Cindy Lanton Crowe (Jeffery), Headland; Kitty Lanton Chiles (Blake), Webb AL; and Barbara Jean Lanton Boatwright (Nic), Headland; a sister, Betty Enfinger, Bainbridge, GA; six grandchildren, Hannah Chiles, Brianna Chiles, Robert Crowe (Marissa), Jonathan Crowe, Nicholas Boatwright and Emma Jean Boatwright; a great-granddaughter, Livy Crowe.
