Robert Eugene Long, Sr., a resident of Taylor, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his residence. He was 86.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chad Hixson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. on Monday prior to service time.

Mr. Long was born March 3, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana and lived the early years of his life there. At the age of 19, he entered the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War and played in the military band. He owned and operated Long Refrigeration and Air Conditioning for over 45 years. He was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Long is predeceased by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his children, Robin Ann Long of Dothan, Timothy Eugene (Dori) Long of Dothan, Robert Eugene (Sue) Long, Jr. of Dothan and Cindy (Bo) Hudson of Dothan; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren including Mike Kent and Billy Crowder; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Ann and Marguerite.
