OZARK…. Mr. Robert Jasper Chancey (TSgt., United States Air Force, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died Monday morning, May 13, 2019 in an Ozark nursing home. He was 85.


            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 18, 2019 in the Old Center United Methodist Church Cemetery, near Echo. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the graveside.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Center United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Priscilla Trawick, 4852 County Road 7, Newville, A


            Mr. Chancey, son of the late Causey Chancey and Mae Brannon Chancey was a native of the Old Center Church Community in Dale County. He formerly lived in Orlando, Florida and Alaska before returning to Dale County in 2012. Mr. Chancey was retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years’ service and was also retired as a warehouse manager on the Alaska Pipeline. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Chancey; his son, Bobby Chancey; six sisters, Elmer Adkins, Marjorie Preston, Ilabelle Turner, Vassie Lingo, Alice Blankenship, Izora Tharpe; four brothers, Edward Chancey, Lemuel Chancey, Oscar Chancey, and Tommy Chancey.


            Surviving relatives include several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Jerry Adkins (Julie), Cottonwood; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
