Obituary: Robert Kelley Nichols
Mr. Robert Kelley Nichols of Enterprise, AL passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 in Enterprise. He was 84.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, July 8 at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Rev. Jim Duhaime and Rev. Earnest Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm. In keeping with Mr. Nichols’ wishes, his body will be donated to medical science.
Mr. Nichols was born January 14, 1928 in Coffee County, AL to the late John W. and Kate Kelley Nichols. He served in the United State Navy during WW II and worked at Fort Rucker for 37 years where retired as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of the Carmichael Masonic Lodge. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Robert’s memory to, The American Heart Association, Alzheimers Association, Wounded Warriors Fund, Gentiva Hospice, DaySpring Hospice or your favorite charity.
In addition to his parents a brother Lex Nichols and a sister Irma Nichols Morgan preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Frances Elizabeth Hall Nichols, Enterprise; one son, Robert “Bob” Kelley Nichols, Jr. (Peggy), Panama City, FL; one granddaughter, Kara “K” Burns, Panama City; 3 great-grandchildren: Kaelyn, Kuran and Kamryn all of Panama City, FL. nieces and nephews include Buck and Mackie Frazier, Chip and Marge Morgan, John and Becky Morgan, Bruce and Dale Hall, Belinda Thomason. brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry and Caroline Hall.
The family would like to thank the employees at the Enterprise Health and Rehab for their help and support during the last few years.
