ROBERT LARRY BLOUNT

DOTHAN, AL… Robert Larry Blount, age 48, beloved son, who loved life, family, fishing and Roll Tide, was taken from this life too soon on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

Memorial services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Brother Jason Waddell officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. The family request that everyone who attends the services, come in casual attire, preferably fishing gear attire or favorite collegiate attire.

In lieu of flowers, if so desired, please make contributions to Wiregrass Angel House, www.wiregrassangelhouse.org , or please help support your local High School Bass Fishing Clubs.

Robert was avid fisherman who loved and treasured time spent fishing with his dad. They were Team Blount and Blount and loved the competition and camaraderie that is so strong in the fishing community.

Robert loved people and you were always greeted with a big smile and an even bigger hug to those he loved and called family.

He started work at AAA Cooper Transportation when still in his teens and loved trucks and trucking all his life. At the time of his death, he was a contractor for FedEx Ground and his RBF, Inc. logo jokingly stood for “Rather Be Fishing”.

He is leaving behind his loving parents, Larry and Norma Blount, who will grieve until they join him. Also leaving behind, his business partner, Tiffany Blount, his uncles, Steve Speigner (Louise) and Wesley Mickel, and many, many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Marie Blount, and Robert and Mollie Speigner; and his favorite aunt, Kathryn Mickel.
