Robert Stephen(Steve) Treadaway, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Southeast Health in Dothan.

Steve was born November 7, 1956 in Bonifay, Florida to the late Annie Nell Treadaway. He grew up on his Grandparent’s farm in an area of Holmes County, known for years as Rural Route 2, where some of the best watermelons were grown by his Grandpa. He attended elementary school and high school in Bonifay. After high school he enlisted in the US Army and served as an MP at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Upon returning to civilian life he received his Associate Degree in Radiography from Chipola College in Marianna, Florida and begun his career as a Radiology Technician.

In November, 1997 Steve was united in marriage to Celina Denise Bullock. They welcomed two children, Stephen Gage(Gage) and Anna Isabelle(Issy). Some of Gage’s favorite times and memories made with his dad were when they attended the Rockville Music Festivals in Jacksonville Beach. Issy’s favorite memories are playing tennis, golfing, the “old man’s” cooking, his love for music, how smart he was, but most of all watching and challenging each other during Wednesday night Jeopardy. Steve, Gage and Issy shared a mutual love of Pink Floyd’s music. Steve confessed to having cried like a baby the first time he listened to “On the Turning Away”. Steve was affectionately called “old man” by many. He loved rock music. Around 1973 most every night after midnight he was able to pick up radio station WLS from Chicago(900 miles away)and he would listen to DJ Yvonne Daniels play records not played during the daytime, until he fell asleep. He made many lifelong friends and had many “man’s best friends”. He was loved more than he knew and he will be missed.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Nell Treadaway; his grandparents Erastus and Beulah Williamson, his maternal aunts and uncles and favorite dog Brandy.

Survivors include his son, Stephen Gage(Gage) Treadaway, his daughter Anna Isabelle(Issy) Treadaway, many cousins, good friend Bill Nobel and dogs Baby and Taz.
