Dothan, Alabama – Roger Allan Cutting, 70, lost a well-fought battle March 31, 2019, after a brief period of declining health.

He was born April 10, 1948, in St. Albans, Vermont, son of Robert E. and Marion T. Cutting;educated in the Fitchburg and Winchendon MA school systems. He was also a Vietnam-era veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He worked for many years in the greater Gardner, MA area in the Industrial Ceramic Industry and in Florida at a school for at-risk and troubled teens. Roger will be remembered as a kind, happy man who had a deep faith in his Lord, was fiercely devoted to his family and loyal to his friends. Further, he had a respect & admiration for animal life which they all seemed to recognize in kind. Cody, Roger’s Dobie companion, already deeply misses him.  He was an avid reader, a skilled musician who loved to golf, craft custom fishing lures and could always be pulled into a good game of cards.

Roger will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife, Gail, with whom he celebrated their 25^th anniversary in January, his daughter, Justine Winkelman, her husband James, and grandson Alexander, of Swampscott, MA.

He is survived by five brothers Richard Cutting of Portland, ME, Robert Cutting of Gardner, MA, Randall Cutting of Worcester, MA, Ronald Cutting and his wife Michelle of Peterborough, NH and Rodney Cutting of Winchendon, MA; two sisters Marilyn Mercier of Winchendon, MA and Marlene Adams of Gardner, MA. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Ronald Goulden (Margaret) of Noma, FL, a sister-in-law Kristine Gallant of Fitzwilliam, NH and many, many nephews and nieces.  He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Marion Cutting, brothers-in-law Richard Adams and Robert Mercier.

He further loved his extended/blended step family and will be dearly missed by daughter-in-law Kelley Harris, grandson Jonathan Harris (Melissa Gentle), granddaughter Meghan Olson (Kevin) and great grandson Timothy Olson. He was predeceased by son, Timothy Harris.

A memorial and burial service will be held in Massachusetts at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Glover Funeral Home.
