Roger Dale Riley, 57, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, March 14, 2022 at home. He was born December 11, 1964.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park.

He attended Dothan High School. After high school, he found his calling with construction and loved every second of it. He was most recently employed with Hughes Construction Services, LLC, where he not only earned their respect but was viewed as family.

After the tragic loss of his big brother and little sister to cancer, he vowed to overcome his long-term addiction to alcohol. He succeeded in accomplishing his vow on September 11, 2018. This new day became like a new day of birth, changing his life from that moment on.

When he was not working, Roger enjoyed watching Nascar, wrestling, Alabama football, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed going to the Waffle House every morning before work where he made many friends.

Preceding Roger in death are his father, Bobby Gene Riley, Sr.; his brother, Bobby Gene Riley, Jr.; and his sister, Beverly Gail Odom.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Sellers and father, Larry Sellers of Dothan; three sisters, Donna (Jim) McCraney of Dothan, Tonya Sieg of Dothan, and Starla Mclaney of Hartford; three daughter, Kelli (Richard) Paulk of Germany, Ashley (DJ) Richardson of Ozark, and Jessica (Cody) Spann of Dothan; seven grandchildren, Sara, Louis, Daelyn, Levi, Avaleigh, Locklin, and Lucas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers will be Auturo Perez, Chago Chacon, Scott Metcalf, J.P. Sims, DJ Richardson and Josh Adams.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Hughes Construction Services, LLC and employees.
