DOTHAN. . .Ronald Bruce Williams, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday afternoon, December 17, 2023, in a Dothan hospital. He was 80.

            Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan, with Pastor Ralph Sigler and Dr. Sammy Prim officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Williams was born and reared in Dothan, son of the late Ladone Williams and Zelah Bell Hasty Williams. He attended Troy University and received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. Mr. Williams formerly lived in Tuscaloosa and California before returning to Dothan where he lived most of his lifetime. Mr. Williams attended Covenant Methodist Church. He was employed as a Social Worker with the State of Alabama for many years.  Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Lounette Butler Williams.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Stacy Arnold, Dothan; a son, Cole Williams, Tuscaloosa; two brothers, Mel Williams (Angie), Headland; and Dennis Williams (Jane), Eufaula; grandchildren, Amy Williams, Cory Williams, Devin Williams and Alex Arnold; a niece, Jana Ferrante, a nephew, Michael Williams.
