RONALD  EUGENE  HARLAN

ABBEVILLE, ALABAMA. . .Ronald Eugene Harlan, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, died Sunday afternoon, February 10, 2019, in a Dothan hospital. He was 56.

            A memorial service will be held at a later date.

            Mr. Harlan was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, son of the late Ray Earl Harlan and Opal Murl Lee Harlan. He lived most of his adult lifetime in Granite City, Illinois before moving to Alabama. He was employed by Twitchell Corporation as a fork lift operator. In earlier years, he was employed by McConell Construction of Granite City, Illinois as an asphalt paver. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jax Phillips and Gemma Phillips.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Debbie Barnes Harlan; two daughters, Michelle Lynch, Abbeville; and Jennifer Phillips, Malvern, AL; two sons, Dennis Barnes (Cassandra), Malvern, AL; and Eric Lee Barnes, Bessemer, AL; two sisters, Deborah Harlan and Connie Holmes, both of Granite City, Illinois; five brothers, Ray Harlan, Florida; George Harlan and Mike Harlan, both of Granite City, Illinois; Robert Harlan, Cohika, Illinois, and James Harlan, Paragould, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and one on on the way.
