Ronald “Ronnie” Lynn Harrell, 62, a longtime resident of Ashford passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Southeast Health following a long battle with cancer.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2024, at Glover Funeral Home with Reverend Van Clack officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Marianna with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m., prior to the service. 


Ronnie was born May 5, 1961, in Dothan to the late Charles Lavon Harrell & Ruby Laverne Ham. He spent the early years of his life in Marianna and was a 1979 graduate of Marianna High School. Following school, Ronnie moved to Ashford and began working at Farley Nuclear Plant, where he has worked for the past 34 years, as an electrician and warehouseman. Ronnie was a longtime member of Donalsonville Country Club and was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing different golf courses in our area.


He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Jerri Harrell; and a nephew, Braxton Harrell.


He is survived by four brothers, Steve Harrell of Malone, Stacy Harrell of Nashville, TN, Jeremy Harrell of Nashville, TN, and Tony Harrell of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; a sister, Lisa Marie Harrell of Burnsville, NC; three nieces and nephews, Courtney Harrell, Colby Harrell, and Connor Harrell; one great-niece, Ansley.
