Mr. Ronnie Darrell Johnson, age 64, a lifelong resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023, at his residence.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Brigette Johnson, 101 Designer Circle, Dothan, Al. 36303.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Ronnie was born on September 23, 1959, in Dothan, the son of Fred Barlow and Allie Faye Johnson.  He received his heavy equipment operator certificate from Wallace College.  Ronnie retired from the City of Dothan as a heavy equipment operator in 2014 after 35 years of service.  He enjoyed fishing, working with his father in produce, and spending time with his family.  Ronnie really loved sitting at his home and looking at his pond. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Martin Johnson, and his Father, Fred B. Johnson.

Survivors include his loving Mother, Faye Johnson, Dothan; two sons, Chad Johnson (Brigette) and Daniel Johnson (Michelle), both of Dothan; brother, Ricky Johnson (Pat), Dothan; 2 grandchildren, Ashlynn Johnson, and Noah Johnson, both of Dothan.

The Johnson family would like to give a special Thank You to Erin, Olivia, and Malekae with Day Spring Hospice, and to Dr. Ryan Conner and Dr. Scott McAllister for their support and care.
