Roscoe Vaughn Souders, age 85, of Dothan, AL, formerly of Daleville, AL,  passed away, Monday, December 9, 2019 at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 12th at the Daleville Chapel of Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Jim Peters officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

He was a RET (CW3) US Army helicopter pilot.  He served two tours in Vietnam. He was a flight instructor at Fort Rucker, AL for approximately 12 years.

Mr. Souders was preceded in death by his mother and father, Roscoe Flemon Souders and Mabel Ellen Knapper Souders, sister, Marjorie Delores (Dodie) Souders Cooper, his wife, Marilyn Elizabeth Souders and a son, Shawn Patrick Souders.

Survivors include his sons, Kevin Souders (Tangee), Dothan, AL and Alan Souders (Pam), Daleville, AL; six grandchildren, Ashley Souders, Brooke Heldreth, Payton Souders, Bryce Souders, Marilyn Souders and Madilyn Souders; two great-grandchildren, Jaycee Heldreth and Brayden Heldreth; brothers, Jackie Charles Souders (Phyllis), Gerald Jeffrey Souders (Maggie); sisters, Marlene Souders Hurst-Ream, Martha Belle Souders Smith (Richard), Cheryl Renita Marguerite Souders Howard, Sheila Teresa Souders Calder and Barbara Miriam Souders Perry (Terry).
