Royce Dotson Crews of Samson, AL passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was 84 years old.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Crews Cemetery in Samson with Rev. Danny Branch, Minister Harry O. Adkison officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

Royce was born in Geneva County, AL on September 20, 1936 to the late Marcus Dotson and Katie Arencia Landingham Crews. Royce enjoyed going to gospel sings and singing every chance he got. He will be remembered for his love of horses and driving his horse and buggy throughout Samson and surrounding communities.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Ethelyne Aplin Crews; one sister, Lavelle Mickelsen; and one step daughter, Anna White.

Royce is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sirenna Coon Crews of Samson, AL; five children, Dorothy Gayle Smith (Michael) of Nashville, TN, Jimmy D. Crews (Tanya) of Birmingham, AL, Sandra Joyce Gillis (Steve) of Samson, AL, Rosemary Harrison (Jimmy) of Darlington, FL, and Julie Michelle Sego (Richard) of Riceville, TN; one step son, Mike Adams (Charlotte) of Andalusia, AL; two step daughters, Denese Forehand of Samson, AL, and Renee Morgan (Dale) of Marianna, FL; 13 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren; two sisters, Rochelle Wright of Samson, AL, and Ann Sanders of Orlando, FL; one brother-in-law, Robert Mickelsen of Samson, AL.
