Rozelle Hudson
Ellen Rozelle Hudson, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday April 8, 2012 at the home of her sister after a lengthy illness. She was 77.
The family will receive friends at Byrd Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 1 to 2 pm followed by a graveside service at Open Pond Cemetery near Jakin, GA at 3pm CDT/ 4pm EDT. The service will be conducted by Dr. Jim Sanders of First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Manor Retirement Home, 718 Honeysuckle Rd, Dothan, AL 36305 or to First United Methodist Church, 1380 West Main St, Dothan, AL 36301.
Rozelle was born Dec. 15, 1934 in Donalsonville, GA. She moved to Dothan with her parents at an early age and attended Dothan City Schools. Rozelle was a longtime volunteer at Wesley Manor Retirement Home where she spent many hours working in activities. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dothan and the Kay Williams Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Dupont and Ruth Toler Hudson.
She is survived by her sister, Wileria Casey (Sam) of Dothan, nieces, Heather Turpin (Damien) of Flowery Branch, GA and Diana Harris (Mark) of Suwanee GA; great nephews, Houston Harris, Hudson Harris, and Samuel Turpin; great nieces, Sarah Turpin and Hayden Harris.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Covenant Hospice for the loving care of Rozelle during her illness.
