Russell Edwin Richardson, age 79, of Daleville, AL, passed away, Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Medical Center Enterprise.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Daleville Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Peters officiating.  Burial will follow in Daleville Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Daleville Baptist Church Building Fund.


Russell retired after serving in the U.S. Army 20 years.  He served 3 tours in Vietnam and received the following, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Aircraft Crewman Badge, Purple Heart, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal (numeral-8), Army Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Good Conduct Medal (6 awards), Purple Heart Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (2), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2).


Russell was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Richardson.


Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Becky Sellers Richardson, Daleville, AL; daughter, Renee Insley (Shane) Daleville, AL; son, Ryan Richardson, Daleville, AL; 3 grandchildren, Reagan, Hayden and Ryder; 4 brothers, Ed Richardson, Mayo, FL; Ronnie Richardson (Brenda) Branford, FL; Bob Richardson, Baconton, GA; Dale Richardson (Darlene) Mayo, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
