NAPIER FIELD. . .Russell James Eckley, II, a resident of Napier Field, died Thursday, January 20, 2022, in Abbeville. He was 36.

       Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 24, 2022, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Jud Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The family will receive friends following the chapel services.

       Russell Eckley was born in Birmingham and was reared in Columbia, South Carolina. He moved to Napier Field several years ago. Russell was a member of the Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. He was formerly employed as a Chef in Charleston, SC. Russell was preceded in death by his father, Russell James Eckley, his maternal grandparents, Robert S. “Bo” Blalock and Fannie Mae Stinson Blalock, his paternal grandfather, Dale Eckley cousins, James Rollins and Gail Rollins and aunts, Sue Money and Laverne Rollins.

       Surviving relatives include his mother, Winona Blalock Eckley, Abbeville; his paternal grandmother, Willadean Eckley, Bentonville, Arkansas; an aunt, Elizabeth Matthews, Columbia, SC; uncles, Vernon Eckley (Ann), Bentonville, Arkansas  and Randy Eckley (Joy), Tucson, Arizona; several cousins.
