Russell Rodgers of New Brockton, AL passed away Monday, August 27^th at his home.  He was 81.

          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 29^th at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Granger officiating.  Burial will follow in McGhee Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time.

          Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie and Waverly Rodgers and a granddaughter, Brandy Nicole Danley.

          Survivors include his wife, Clara Mae Rodgers, New Brockton, AL; three sons, Joseph and Anita Rodgers, Bethany, AL; Jimmy Rodgers and Diane Knoebel, New Brockton and Clayhatchee, AL; Jacky and Mary Rodgers, New Brockton; six daughters, June and Levarl Wallace, Goodman, AL; Janet and Manfred Skirde, New Brockton; Jennifer and Farrell Kyser, New Brockton; Julia and Michael Sanders, Elba, AL; Jeanine and Matthew Danley, New Brockton; Jessica and Kevin Hays, Elba, AL; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren.
