RUTH  REYNOLDS  MILLER

 

MIDLAND CITY . . . Ruth Reynolds Miller, a former resident of Midland City, died Tuesday night, June 26, 2012 in Westside Terrace. She was 94.

            Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 28, 2012 in the Beulah Cemetery, Headland Avenue, Dothan with Reverend Woody Farrington officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL  36302.

            Mrs. Miller was born in Camp Hill, Alabama and reared in Troy, daughter of the late Columbus Burton Reynolds and Cora Alnona Beaty Reynolds. She lived in Midland City from 1982 until 2007 when she moved to Dothan. Mrs. Miller was retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in the ICU unit. In earlier years, she was employed as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Mrs. Miller was a member of Midland City Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Macon C. Miller, a daughter, Josephine Miller Gullage, a son-in-law, Jerry Gullage and a brother, Harry Reynolds.

            Surviving relatives included a son, Joe R. Miller and wife, Eleanor, Dothan; four grandchildren, Mark Miller (Stacee), Derek Miller, Jerri Lynn Carothers (Robins), Tammi Raley (Mark); and four great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Raley, Robins Carothers, Macon Miller and Mary Beth Miller.

            The family would like to express their appreciation to all the employees of Westside Terrace especially Kecia and also to Gentiva Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Miller during her illness.
