Samuel Allen Boyd, age 25, of Troy, AL, passed away, Thursday, April 29, 2021 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P. M., on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until service time.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Samuel Boyd Scholarship Fund established by the DKE Fraternity.  Donations can be made in person at any Wells Fargo Bank or mailed to:  Wells Fargo Bank, 619 Boll Weevil Circle, Enterprise, Alabama 36330, Checks payable to: Samuel Boyd Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Donations can be made electronically through Zelle using the following email address: [email protected]

Sam was a 2014 honor graduate of Enterprise High School.  He graduated with a BS Degree in Rehabilitation in 2019 from Troy University.  While attending Troy University, he was an active member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity  (DKE).  He was currently attending Salus University in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania working towards a Master’s Degree in Orientation and Mobility.  Sam was also Chapter Advisor of DKE Fraternity at Troy University. 

Survivors include his fiancé, Hayden Scarbrough, Troy, AL; his parents, Ginger and Morgan Boyd, New Brockton, AL; a sister, Anna Elizabeth Boyd, New Brockton, AL; his grandparents, Kenneth and Elizabeth Walls, and Barbara Boyd; aunts, Kenna Kirkland (Garrick); Melanie Senn (Johnny); Mildred Starry (Joe); uncle, Joseph Boyd; numerous cousins and friends; and his loving pets, Boogie, Hendrix and Boo.
