Samuel Eugene Majors of Black, Alabama, formerly of Panama City, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. He was 96 years old. He was born in Black, Alabama on July 12, 1922 to Lawson Majors and Jessie Chandler Majors. Eugene was predeceased by his wife, Bernice Strickland Majors; his parents; and sister, Jewel Majors Skinner.

He is survived by his son, Joel Eugene Majors; daughter-in-law, Marion Kay Langford Majors; grandsons, Joel Lee Majors and wife Angela Langford Majors, and Timothy Paul Majors and wife Andrea Joyce Majors; great grandchildren, Natalie Camille Majors and Connor Wayne Majors all from Tallahassee, Florida.

Visitation will be held at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home located at 12118 AL-52 in Hartford on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Black Community Cemetery on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Spivey officiating and under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottom Garden Chapel Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank Eugene’s caregivers, Esther Wilson, Sherry Cross, Cleave Black, Cathy Howell, and Sybil Hunter for assisting him over the years.
