Sandra Turner Elliott passed away on June 22, 2023. She was 81 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Samson First Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. James Nathan Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the Day Family cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Sandra was born in Mobile, AL on July 5, 1941, to the late Nathan Lyle and Luna Belle Backstrom Turner. Sandra was a proud graduate of the University of Alabama class of 1965. After graduation, Sandra began her working career in the Huntsville School system where she taught for 5 ½ years. After teaching, she went to work for the State of Alabama Court Systems as a Court Specialist 3. After 25 years of dedicated service, she retired from the State of Alabama. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a member of Central Baptist Church in Decatur, AL.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Turner Snitkin.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arthur James Elliott of Samson, AL; one son, Reverend Dr. James Nathan Elliott (Nan) of Samson, AL; one daughter, Leah Day (Chris) of Samson, AL; grandchildren, Elizabeth Elliott, Hannah Elliott, Sarah Elliott, and Christine Day.
