Sarah B. Johnson of Geneva passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023.  She was 87. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva with Rev. Jerry Moore, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at Noon.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Holmes County, FL on May 16, 1936, to the late Jesse and Maggie Gillis Padgett.  She was employed by the chenille factory in Geneva for many years.  Prior to her retirement, she worked together with her husband as a carpenter/painter. Known for her friendly and loving nature, she loved her family.  In her pastime, she loved to cook, read, sew, and work with her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Frank Johnson; and three brothers, Broward Padgett, Jesse Wayne Padgett and Gillis Padgett.

She is survived by her daughter, Regina Capps of Caryville, FL; two sons, Ronnie Frank Johnson of Bonifay, FL, and Joel Keith Johnson of Geneva; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edith Riley of Tennessee and Evelyn Haysten of Winter Haven, FL.  The family wants to thank Dr. John Simmons, the staff of Wiregrass Nursing Home, and the staff of Southerncare Hospice for the loving care shown to our mother.
