Sarah N. Carlton age 70 of Sneads, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Jackson Hospital. She was of the Holiness faith and lived most of her life in Jackson County. Spending time with her family, working in the yard and keeping house were her favorite activities. Sarah loved hummingbirds and no matter where she lived there was an abundance of them around her feeders.
Sarah along with her husband and son participated in drag racing for many years at the Power House Drag strip and also the Cottonwood Race Tracks. She was preceded in death by her parents James E. andMyrtle Jones, her husband, Loyd W. Carlton, son Johnny Wayne Moats, sister, Mary Eleanor Thomas and brother Robert Wade Jones.
Survivors include her son Randy Moats (Gerri), daughters Sonja Swain (Jay) and Brenda Proctor (Joe). She has 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Carlton will be held onMonday, April 27, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Sister Frances Dudley officiating.
Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held 2 hours prior to service time at the Chapel Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is char ge of arr angements. Expr essions of sympathy may submitted online at www.marianna chapelfh.com
