DOTHAN, AL…..Sarah Hasty Botts, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday night, January 14, 2012 in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. She was 72.


            Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, January 16, 2012, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan with Dr. Garey Meadows officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. At other times, the family will be at the home of her sister, Trish Newton, 210 Brushfire Drive, Dothan.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, AL 36302.


            Mrs. Botts was born and reared in Columbia, daughter of the late Thomas Ellard Hasty and Glovey Wilburn Hasty. She lived in Atlanta, GA, Columbia and Webb before moving to Dothan in 2004. Mrs. Botts received her nursing degrees from Wallace Community College and was formerly employed as a Registered Nurse at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was a member of the Camp Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Botts was devoted to her late husband, John Lee Botts and dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her parents, sisters and brothers. She was especially fond of her canine friends, “Cricket” and “Benji”. Mrs. Botts enjoyed nursing and caring for the sick and elderly as a lifetime profession. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Botts; two sisters, Jeannine Davidson and Mary Murphy and three brothers, LaDon Hasty, John Thomas Hasty and Edwin Hasty.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, LaRhonda Botts (Roni) Irvin and husband, Danny, Dothan, AL; two sons, Thomas LaDon (Tommy) Botts, Midland City, AL. and Lonnie Gene Botts, GA; three sisters, Katrina Enfinger, Atlanta, GA; Trish Newton and husband, Gene, Dothan, AL; Sheila Oakley and husband, Paxton, Columbia, AL; a brother, Bill Hasty, Bristol, FL; four grandchildren, Kylie Allsup, Heather Johnson and husband, Jeffrey; Tiffany Botts and Garrison Botts; three great-grandchildren, MaKayla Graves, Jordan Lee Johnson and John Logan Johnson; a sister-in-law, Marianne Hasty, Columbia, AL; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Davidson, Dothan, AL; several nieces and nephews.
